Connie Jefferson is a nice woman who never acts out except once with affluent realtor Marshall James before scurrying back to the safety of her boyfriend Steady Victor.  Her old high school rival Deandra Morgan loves being a bad girl as she relishes big especially in her men and no one comes juicier or bigger than Marshall James.

Marshall enjoys the uninhibited, anything goes, show me the money Deandra, but has not forgotten the best sex of his life; that one night with sweet Connie when he got her to let her hair and much more down.  When he and Connie meet for the first time since that explosive evening, he thinks he better make up his mind as Connie has his heart and upper head, but Deandra owns his lower head; or does she?

This engaging erotic triangle with a nod to the Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind” is an entertaining contemporary romance.  The story line is fast-paced and few male leads come across as fully developed as the confused Marshall does.  Although the females are stereotypical polar opposites, fans will enjoy wondering who Marshall will leave behind between uninhibited sex and a complete person in love with him.

Florida - Present Day

Deandra Morgan is a woman unafraid of going after what she wants, and what she wants is a rich man to take care of her.  She’s set her sights on Marshall James, a local real estate tycoon, and their first meeting is everything she hopes it will be and more.  He whisks her off to the Bahamas on his private yacht and they are having a wonderful time, until Deandra sees a picture.  In it, Marshall has his arms around Connie Jefferson, a woman Deandra hasn’t seen since high school.  Connie had been the good-girl, and Deandra most definitely was not.  It’s obvious that there is something between Connie and Marshall, and now that Deandra’s got Marshall interested in her, she’s not going to let anything come between them.

It’s been two years since the wonderful afternoon Connie spent with Marshall and, though they’ve become very good friends, that’s the only relationship they have.  She’d like more, but apparently Marshall doesn’t feel the same way.  When she meets Victor, Connie is charmed and is beginning to think Victor will be able to help her forget Marshall.  Then she sees Marshall with Deandra.  Each couple has been dating for awhile, but suddenly Connie and Marshall are questioning their respective relationships, and wondering “what if”.

PROMISCUOUS is an interesting erotic tale.  Deandra unapologetically uses her body to get what she wants, and is determined to make a better life for herself.  She’s not exactly a likable character, but is she irredeemable?  Marshall has no illusions about what kind of woman Deandra is but, since he’s not looking to give up his bachelorhood any time soon, her “unsuitability” doesn’t bother him.  He describes Connie as the kind of girl you take home to mom, and his mother, Viola, does indeed see Connie as a suitable future daughter-in-law.  Her privileged upbringing and job as an attorney make Connie more the type of woman Viola sees her son with, but she’s not exactly a goody-two shoes.  Her romance with Victor is already a bit rocky when she runs into Marshall and Deandra, but seeing her dream man with someone so beautiful doesn’t give Connie much hope for a future between them.

A complex story, PROMISCUOUS is a little heavier on the sex than the romance for the first half of the book.  There are also a few surprises in store for both Connie and Deandra that may help to explain the animosity Deandra feels for the other woman.  PROMISCUOUS is an absorbing novel, that is worth checking out.

Andie wasn't part of the elite group of high school girls that she admired. The sketchy details of her birth and open sexual behavior made her tainted. Andie made on last ditch effort to belong to the group - she forced an invitation to Connie Jefferson's (AKA C.J.) slumber party and easily became their sexual instructor. This freaky behavior outraged C.J.'s mother who totally humiliated her and sent her packing.

The details of the party quickly spread around the school adding fuel to the fire that burned any hope in Andie's life.  Wanting to recreate herself, Andie changed her name and her lifestyle (well sort of) becoming Deandra Morgan.

Enter Marshall James, millionaire bachelor who could bankroll her future. It didn't take long for Deandra to claim her prey, and Marshall fell for her trap hook, line and sinker. However, Deandra didn't know that his overprotective mom would check out her past in such detail. Neither did she realize that C.J.'s return could jeopardize her relationship with Marshall. They say that your past will always come back to haunt you, and this may be Deandra's future. In the end, she may end up with more family and a freedom that would liberate her from her childhood demons.

Promiscuous is a creative tale of sexual desire gone wild. The strongly suggestive sex scenes, the underlying secrets, and the fast-paced drama will leave your mouth agape and your heart racing. The characters have real emotions while the parties, vacation cabins and boating experiences remind you of life on the television show Dynasty.  Get ready to add some new love making ideas to your portfolio and experience family drama you won't believe. Clarke has done it again- writing tales that keep you wet and wondering.

Deandra is a woman who will do anything to get to the top. Having had a taste of the high life when young, which ended abruptly when her biological father passed away, she will do anything to regain what she has lost. She sets her sights on a wealthy man and determines she will marry him.

Marshall comes from old money, and he likes what he sees when he sees Deandra, but he is clueless about her past. Even so, he begins a relationship with her knowing that it will just be temporary because he has no ambition to settle down yet.. Connie grew up with money; her father, a well-known surgeon, her mother a socialite. She is in love with Marshall, but feels she can never have him, so instead she accepts second best with Victor.

Victor is Connie's lover, but he is not what he appears to be. Like Deandra, he has a hidden agenda and will do whatever is necessary to forward it. While Marshall can appreciate Deandra's free spirit, it becomes apparent to him early on that if he does not keep an eye on her she could do some seriously embarrassing things. As time moves forward, and Deandra's behavior becomes even more erratic, he begins having his doubts about their relationship and wondering about her past. Meanwhile, Connie is becoming very disenchanted with her lover Victor who has begun treating her in ways that are less than respectful. However, there are is more to what is going on than anyone realizes. That is until Marshall's mother has a private detective look into Deandra's background and discovers the ultimate secret, hidden for years. Will this secret destroy what Deandra has found with Marshall? How will Connie, who discovers the secret affects her too, take it? Only time will tell.

Promiscuous is an enjoyable read with multi-faceted characters. I liked reading about the characters in this story because they are real.. While some of the scenarios are rather sad, the way they are written is realistic. This novel shows quite graphically what can happen when a child slips through the cracks in our society and must learn to fend for herself as Deandra does. However, it also does a good job of showing that there is hope for Deandra in spite of her past and I really liked that. If you enjoy watching soap operas, you are going to enjoy Promiscuous.

As Promiscuous by R. Moreen Clarke begins, we meet high schoolers, Connie Jefferson and Andie Moore, the two along with some others are at Connie's home for a slumber party. All Andie wants is to finally have some friends to call her own. While at the slumber party, Andie convinces the other girls to "sexually" liberate themselves. But while some of the girls participate, they never counted on being caught by Connie's mother, Arlene, who promptly threw Andie, the mixed-breed misfit, out of her home. Andie was confident she had made some friends but she was sadly mistaken. The incident only served to alienate her from the other high schoolers even more which lead Andie to blame Connie for always appearing as a goodie two shoes, a saint.

Fifteen years later, Andie, now Deandra Morgan, has targeted her next conquest, Marshall James. He can provide her with everything she thinks she deserves from a man, all the finer things in life including damn good sex. When Marshall begins to court Deandra, he knows she is a gold-digger but that does not stop him from fully enjoying the situation or sex as much as he can. But when his path crosses with Connie Jefferson, he is reminded of that one passionate romp they once shared years ago. When Deandra encounters Connie and notices Marshall's reaction to her, she promises that Connie will not take away her gold mine; thus, once again ruining her life. And even though Connie is currently in a relationship with Victor, she cannot help but remember the passion she shared with Marshall. There is much trouble brewing under the surface of each couples' relationship and many lies and truths that will arise alter each person's life forever.

Promiscuous boasts a combination of erotically written fiction with enduring qualities. At first glance, Deandra seems like a lost cause, a gold-digger with only anger to fuel her ambitions. But as the story proceeds, readers get the chance to understand why Deandra acts the way she does. Then there is Marshall, who is a flawed hero so to speak; but who could blame a red-blooded heterosexual male with taking full advantage of a gold-digger and their ways? The twists delivered by R. Moreen Clarke gives new meaning to the saying be of careful how you treat other people, you never know when you will encounter them in your life again. Promiscuous is definitely a book I suggest for readers looking for erotic fiction with romantic undertones.
