After the death of her fiance, Olivia Cane has yet to date or find love again, so she decides to try Internet dating and meets Malcolm. She feels that Malcolm is her "knight in shining armor" and quickly begins to fall for him despite her doubts and everyone's concerns. They correspond through emails and soon begin to speak by phone but more and more questions begin to develop in Olivia's mind as Malcolm can only contact her and seems hesitate after she begins to want to meet in person. Finally the day arrives when they agree to meet in person and after Olivia sees him, she not only feels betrayed by his appearance but also begins to question herself. If true love is what she seeks, why does appearance matter?? Isn't what's on the inside what truly matters?? Deciding to follow her heart and swallow her doubts, she decides to give her relationship with Malcolm another try but little does she know that he is keeping secrets and hiding who he truly is.

If Only In My Dreams will capture your attention from the first page as you get swept up in the ensuring romance between Olivia and Malcolm, it is a real and honest look at Internet dating as it asks the old-age question, "Do Looks Really Matter" when searching for your true love?? This is the second book by author R. Moreen Clarke I have read and thoroughly enjoyed. If Only In My Dreams is a book for today’s modern reader. It provides an up-close view of the intimate details of online relationships.

Alone for several years after the untimely death of her fiancé who dies in an auto accident, Olivia Cane, explores an Internet dating services in hopes of finding her perfect knight. That knight comes in the form of one Malcolm First, an intensely romantic intellectual who travels frequently on business trips. It is Malcolm and Olivia’s search for true love that finds them hungry to expose their inner longings to one another, almost at once. Via electronic conversations, they create a fairy tale of poetic prose, romantic stories and echoes of ‘I love you’. All is well until Olivia’s family and friends begin to ask her questions about the mysterious man she has met online. It occurs to Olivia that she knows very little about the details of Malcolm’s life. Sure. He’s romantic and caring. However, she doesn’t know where he lives, if he has children or even if he is married. His kindness and aptly applied skill with words encourages her to throw caution to the wind. It isn’t long before she finds herself falling deeply in love with a man she knows so very little about.

The complications of their relationship are strong and easily carry the story. The characters are complex and well developed. The writing is fluid and effective. The dialogue is believable...any reader seeking a deeper love may catch glimpses of their own desires and fears while enjoying If Only In My Dreams .

  This is an excellent book - as a single woman, I can understand the hesitation when going to the internet. Putting your personal information with a dating service is very scary - this book makes you ready to take a chance and try to find the one you have always wanted who has been looking for you too. The emails in the book are very sexy and I couldn't wait to read the next ones to see if they get "hotter" with each exchange of the words between these two people. Want to see more books by this author, she is very good at putting you in the mood for romance and SEX....Pat, WPB, FL

This book is wonderful!!! I don't read that often because I get bored very quickly, I could not put this book down! I think I read it beginning to end in about 3 days. It really hits home with me, because I tried the whole internet dating thing and was actually successful.
